I started Buffalo in 2023 in Sri Lanka, a beautiful, hot and humid tropical island in South Asia. Having lived here for five years by this time, and experimented with the first few iterations of the brand, I had become ruthless about the clothes and fabrics I chose to wear.
Cheap, synthetic or heavy fabrics that are commonplace in mainstream European stores had been totally removed from my wardrobe, as they were notorious for trapping sweat, clinging to the skin, and were just overall uncomfortable to wear.
When the weather turns hot and humid, fabric matters.
That’s why Buffalo uses 100% cotton: natural, lightweight, breathable, soft on the skin, and strong enough to last beyond one summer.
